Given the newness of this space, I thought a more formal introduction might be necessary.
Hi! I’m Jessica, wife to Chris and mother to twins, Jacob and Elizabeth, who were born in April of 2015. We also have two rescue pets, Anna Cat and Elly Dog. B.C. (before children), I worked for nine years as a high school English teacher. Today, I’m a project manager by day and a child manager by night. I’ve always been a huge fan of sleeping, but even more so now since my kids (still) don’t reliably sleep through the night. I love coffee, fresh laundry off the line, a clean house (especially when someone else does it!), and, occasionally, running, and I feel very seriously that a day without chocolate is a day wasted. I used to be a voracious knitter, but carpal tunnel brought me to a screeching halt, and I’m still looking for a crafty something to take its place.
Chris and I are very fortunate in that we both work from home. This means that, for the first year of their lives, our kids were home, all day every day, with us. Now, they roll into day care two days a week, and my mom watches them at home with us three days a week. It’s amazing to be with our littles so much, but soooometimes it’s a little too much!
I’ve opened this space as a way for me to explore my writing, so welcome! I hope you’ll enjoy this journey with me!
